Site Launch Jump-Started on Six Hours' Notice

Christine's voice trembled when she called Thursday at 9pm.

"I know we said the site would be launched in 2-3 weeks, but the deadline just got pushed up.

"...To tomorrow morning."

I cut her off as she launched into profuse apologies.

"Cool! Please relax, take a breath, and we'll do this together."

Christine and her partner in the project, Peterson, had begun planning the site a year ago. They had content and the site outline ready to go, but not graphics. They hadn't yet logged in to the My Org Host back-end the first time to start loading their content.

So, Peterson copied and pasted text from Word documents, editing and tying up loose ends on 30 pages of content along the way. Christine pulled together a header graphic and a color scheme. I glued it all together with Cascading Style Sheets and programmed the navigation menu.

BeyondExGay.com was launched at 3am. Christine, who was working from Denver, went to bed; Peterson and I left my office in West Hartford, Connecticut, to go out for breakfast.

They are building a community of folks who will use the web site to share their journeys as survivors of ex-gay experiences. Interactive features will be released in April, with additional development of the site based on their needs to follow.

Launching the site on the suddenly-truncated schedule opened the door to getting national exposure in a couple of weeks (more on that soon!).

My Org Host Launches Its First Client Site!

The Purpose Project has been launched, also marking the launch of the My Org Host content management service.

My Org Host has grown from personal conviction that professional, dynamic, easily updated web sites should be available to and affordable for Connecticut nonprofits and professionals.

Matthew Bennett of the Purpose Project approached us on Friday, asking if it would be possible to launch a dynamic site which could grow with his project... by Monday. The answer was "Yup!" and the result is clean, simple, and sharp.
